Games, Games and More Games

In the past, I’ve mentioned that I do Family Game Nights where we play games, both board games on online games as a family.  After things calm down and the kids are in bed, I also like to play games on my own. This is my me time, when I can work on relaxing and calming down after a long or stressful day.  We all have those right?

There are so many online games out there these days, sometimes you don’t know which way to go.  In the evenings, during my free time, I go through looking for new games to play.  I discovered this site called solitaire.org.  This site has a variety of solitaire, match 3 and logic games.  I’ve spent time looking through some of the games on their site in the evenings when the kids are asleep.  I’ve discovered some really fun and really interesting games.  There are the typical solitaire games, like Klondike, Spider and Free Cell. There are mahjong games, my favorite of which is China Mahjong.  I always find these games peaceful and calming.

Then there are hidden object games.  I’ve not played any of these, because I’m never any good at them and they cause me stress, but my kids love to play these and are pretty good at finding the hidden objects. Then we get into some of my favorite games.  I love the Match 3 games.  I can get so involved in these that before I know it, I’ve been playing for 2 hours. I have to be careful to set a timer, otherwise I miss out on sleep when I start these games.  My favorite Match 3 game is Treasures of Atlantis. I have found that I can play this all night long. It’s a timed Match 3 game where you have to get the puzzle pieces to the bottom of the board.  It gets stressful at times when you are about to run out of time and still can’t get the right matches, but I have found that I really enjoy to play these after a long day.

Finally we have the logic games.  I love the battleship game and minesweeper has always been a favorite of mine. Tetra Blocks is another favorite, it’s a form of Tetris which I also grew up playing.

I’ve also found myself playing these when things are slow at work, or in the case of Mahjong, when I’m feeling extra stressed.  After a 15 minute break, I am almost always calmer and ready to handle whatever comes my way.  You should check out these games for yourself. The best thing is that they are all browser based, so there are no downloads.  You can play them on the computer or your phone or tablet anytime!

And don’t forget to tell me what you think!  Also tell me, what are some of your favorite online game sites, preferably browser based.  Have a great day everyone. Game on!
