Happy New Year 2022
As we reflect on the past year and look forward to 2022, I feel like, even with all the insanity of COVID, 2021 was much, much better than 2020 was.
Positives of 2021
- The kids went back to school fully in person this year!
- Leslie’s in the gifted and talented program at her school.
- I got a job, started part time, but within a month was made full time.
- Sean got a new job, and though he had to take a minor pay cut, it’s much better than working in the moving business.
- Hailie turned 16!
- We are financially stable! We have an emergency fund and though we may not be fully debt free, we are working hard towards financial freedom.
- Everyone continues to be happy and healthy.
- We were introduced to Compassion International, sponsored children through them and are doing all we can to spread the word about their mission.
- We got to go to Florida for spring break. The kids had a blast and we got to explore the area that we hope to one day move to.
- We got to start back in Shaolin and are ready to test and learn more.
Negatives of 2021
- Winter the Dolphin died. We were all sad because we loved Winter.
- The kids still have to wear masks to school.
- Lorianna had surgery to have her VNS replaced.
- COVID is still holding the country back. This is something that will always be there now. It’s a virus that we need to learn to live with but not fear.
- Gained back weight that I worked so hard to loose.
- Started having pain in my knee again.
