10 Year Anniversary

On September 27th, 2008, Sean and I got married in a little ceremony in my grandmother’s backyard.  Rev. Jim Stratton conducted the ceremony.   I was so happy and Sean was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.  He also loved my kids like they were his own.  Our wedding day was perfect for us.

Fast forward to September 27, 2018.  10 years later, I still feel the same way about Sean and clearly remember the day we got married like it was yesterday!

For our 10 year anniversary, we got to have a child free date night.  Sean’s sister, Sabrina, kept the kids while we went to Cheddar’s for an amazing meal.  Our waitress, Amber Lynn, came to take our drink and appetizer order. Sean got sweet tea and I got water and we started with the chips and queso appetizer, adding beef to the queso.  If you are a meat lover, this is the way to go with their queso dip.  I’m not a big meat eater, and prefer it without the beef, but Sean loves meat and I wanted him to enjoy too.  The queso was hot, the chips fresh and perfectly crisp and the salsa was also fresh and had a good flavor.

When it was time to order out meals, I got the veggie plate with a salad and Sean got the buffalo chicken wraps with mashed potatoes and a side of broccoli casserole.  My only complaint was that I wanted the potato soup, but it had bacon in it. Since we don’t eat pork, that was out of the question. When it came out, the salad was fresh, crisp and very good. I dug into it, and was able to enjoy as we reminisced about the kids and what they would be doing if they were there at that moment. We certainly wouldn’t have been able to just relax and talk the way we were if they had been there.

On the veggie plate I got the broccoli, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole and rice.  The portions were generous and the food was hot and fresh. Sean’s was good too. He really seems to like the chicken wraps and loves their broccoli casserole. His food was also hot and fresh. As we ate, we continued to talk about the kids, hoping that they were behaving for Sabrina, and were able to just have a relaxing meal without hyper kids and no arguing and fighting. As I started to get full, I put my fork down. Sean looked up and shook his head, because half of the meal was still left on my plate. I can’t eat a whole lot and I didn’t want to make myself uncomfortable. I looked at him and said, “I know this is no surprise to you, but I’m getting full.” He knows me too well and responded back with “I figured that.”

It was nice to be able to take our time, no rushing to get us out the door, and no rushing to get the kids out. As Sean finished up, the waitress brought the check and I settled up with her, also giving her a good tip. Amber Lynn was a good waitress and we were perfectly satisfied with the service and meal. Then we headed to get the kids, so we could get them back home and ready for bed. But for about an hour, we were able to enjoy each other’s company and celebrate the 10 years God has given us together and hopefully, many more years to come. This was a great place to come and celebrate our anniversary. Can’t wait to see what the next year brings us!
