The other day I was looking for a new cleanser for my face.  I wasn’t really happy with my old cleanser.  As I was looking at the shelves, I was feeling discouraged because there were so many products and I knew nothing about any of them.  As I moved on down the aisle, I saw this black packaging with flowers and it caught my eye, Alba Botanica Hawaiian Detox Towelettes.  I had never heard of Alba Botanica and when I got home, I looked them up and realized that they have a whole line of products.  Why had I never seen this company before?  I guess none of their packaging stood out to me until now.  This product is new and because the packaging is different than others on the shelf it just stood out more.

I picked the package up and and looked at the back, expecting to see the same list of stuff that I can’t pronounce for ingredients.  I was surprised when I found that most of the ingredients were plant and fruit extracts.  The directions said “leaves no residue so there is no need to rinse.”  It was also marked hypo-allergenic.  I always look for this because so many products make me break out in a rash these days.  The packaging claims no parabens, phthalates or synthetic fragrances and that it’s 100% vegetarian ingredients.  They also don’t test on animals and the towelettes are are biodegradable.

So I debated on picking them up, the only thing still holding me back was the cost.  They were a little more than what I wanted to spend, however, I needed something and really wanted to try these towelettes out.  So I finally tossed them into my cart, figuring I’d use one or two then pass them onto my girls to use on their faces and go back to staring at the shelves in search of something else.

The first evening I tried them, I was surprised at how clean my face was feeling afterward.  Usually, I feel like my face is still feeling grimy even after having washed it. I’m used to there being a residue after cleaning my face so I expected to have to rinse my face off after using the towelette, even though the package said “no need to rinse”.  However, after using the towelette, I didn’t have to rinse my face off.  I decided that I would see over the next few days how my face felt after continued usage.  The next day I used the towelette on my face just before bed.    I had the same clean feeling as the previous day.  Even after multiple days of usage, I didn’t feel the need to rinse my face off.  It was the same over the next few days as I continued to use them.  My face started feeling cleaner than ever before and I was happy that I decided to try them.  I now wonder how their other products work, and want to try some when I can.
