Family Dinner at Cheddar’s

We had a family dinner at Cheddar’s recently.  We haven’t had many of these in the past yeah since my husbands hours have been cut back and money has been slim, so I was happy to be able to have this one.

It was a fairly good evening, with good food and 3 out of 4 children being fairly well behaved. Lorianna of course had a hard time sitting still, listening, and was talking at the top of her lungs but that’s Lorianna for you. Hailie was a huge help with Kyle, keeping him occupied and taking him to the bathroom when needed, and of course Leslie was a good as could be, cuddling up with me as we waited for our food and talking about school, her animal research project she has to do (she chose dolphins of course) and taking a few moments to bring Winter up on my phone so she could make sure everything was okay there. Surprisingly enough, even Kyle was pretty good as we waited for the food to come and ate it.  He didn’t fuss any, didn’t drop or spill anything and wasn’t causing any trouble!  He and Hailie were taking turns playing on her phone and having a great time.

Leslie got a grilled cheese sandwich with fries and a sweet tea, Hailie and Kyle both got chicken tenders with fries, Hailie got Dr Pepper to drink and Kyle got sprite.  Lorianna got chicken tenders with mac and cheese and Dr Pepper to drink. Sean got his usual chicken wraps with broccoli casserole.  He got sweet tea to drink.  I also got my usual, veggie plate with a salad and water.

The food was good, fresh and hot. I was a little disappointed when the salad didn’t come out until after we were about done eating, but it was brought home to be eaten the next day, with the other leftovers. Everyone was happy and enjoyed the meal.  It was a pleasant evening with Sean only having to talk away from the table one time after getting frustrated with Lorianna for talking so loud and bouncing around in her seat.

I’d love to be able to have more family nights soon. I love spending time with the family and always look forward to the fun that is to be had through the day anticipating a great family evening.  I wonder what I can plan for the next family night.

What do you do for family nights?  Movie nights?  Game nights?
