Leslie’s Chuck E Cheese Party

Almost anyone who has children knows the name Chuck E Cheese. We celebrated Leslie’s 8th birthday at Chuck E Cheese. It wasn’t the first time we have attended a party there, however, it was the first time one of my children has celebrated a birthday there. Leslie made it clear that she wanted her own party this year instead of sharing a party with Kyle, so this was the place we chose for her. We were very pleased with the way things went while we were there. The party host was attentive and answered all our questions. The setup was great and everything was clean. The pizza was hot and very good and the kids had a great time. There were some fries ordered that came out late and cold, but that was the only downside to an amazing party.

We got there a little early so that we could get Leslie ready. She had to change into birthday clothes, have her hair done and be ready to greet her guests. We waited to put her birthday clothes on because we didn’t want her to get messed up before her party, plus we came from another party so it was smarter to wait until we got there. Once she was dressed, her hair done and ready to go, she came out to wait for her guests to arrive. Her table was already set up when we got there. They were prepared and it all looked very nice.

After she was ready for her party she ran off to play while we talked to the party host and discussed menu items and party schedule. As the guests started to arrive we called her back over to greet them, and soon all the kids were there and happily playing while the adults visited and supervised from a distance. Unfortunately not all invited kids showed up, but that didn’t seem to be an issue for Leslie. She was perfectly happy with the friends that did show up.

Waiting for the guests to arrive:

After the kids had played for about half an hour came the actual party part, starting with everyone eating yummy cheese pizza.

After everyone had finished eating, the cake was brought out. Leslie got a Barbie cake. Then the host introduced Leslie to everyone and helped the kids call Chuck E Cheese out. Chuck E Cheese sang and danced with the kids and sang happy birthday to Leslie. Leslie enjoyed being the center of attention.

After the birthday cake, came the ticket booth. Leslie wanted her very best friend to join her so they both got into the ticket booth.

Then came the gifts. The kids all gathered around Leslie while she opened the gifts up. Leslie kept getting distracted by everything going on around her, but finally started opening the presents. She got all her favorite things, dolphins, Barbie (with a dolphin), more dolphins, a toy guitar, a book about sea life, a journal, one of those toys that you put in water and they grow bigger in the shape of a sea turtle, a shirt with dolphins and did I mention dolphins? My dolphin obsessed daughter was surrounded by dolphin stuff and so very happy. I don’t think she could have had a better birthday.

So in the end, the decision to go to Chuck E Cheese was a good one. We could enjoy the party without having to worry about setting up and cleaning up after. The food was good and the cake was moist and a good flavor. The kids enjoyed themselves and even though it was loud the kids didn’t seem to mind. Actually Kyle told me that he wants his party there next year. So we may be having another birthday there next August.
