Midway Fall Festival

Midway is a small town located about 15 miles northwest of Lexington, KY.  We decided it would be fun to visit Midway during their fall festival.  I’ve never been to the Midway Fall Festival, so we didn’t know what we would see there.  There was plenty of parking for about $5 close by, or you could park further away for free, but there is quite a walk in that case.  We chose to pay the $5 parking so that we didn’t have to walk too far.  It was a very warm day.

There were a lot of people there.  This was obviously a big event for Midway.  They had over 200 vendors there, selling all different kinds of things.  If you like to shop, this is definitely something to check out.  The first couple booths we stopped to look at, were selling fall decor and jewelry.  Makin’ Krafts had some very nice fall decor for the home.

The next booth we stopped at, Keepsakes, sold sterling silver jewelry. They had some really pretty pieces of jewelry there. Lorianna found a necklace and earrings that she just had to get for her great grandmother. Leslie saw a blue necklace and a dolphin necklace that she would have loved to have had. I may contact them and see if I can get one of the pieces for her for Christmas.

After we were done at that booth, we crossed the road and continued to look at booths. There were clothes, more jewelry, lots of fall and Halloween decor, woodcraft, a booth with local honey, nuts, and fresh squeezed lemonade. Kyle found a booth with kid’s teepees. He saw one he really liked, but we didn’t have the money to get it for him. He was sad about that.

As we were looking around, we heard a train coming. The kids stood there, watching it pass. Kyle was fascinated by it.

After the train passed, we continued to explore. Hailie stopped at a booth called Wreaths by Miss Pretty Kitty. This was one of her favorite booths. I think it was partially because of the booth name.  They also had food trucks there. There was also live entertainment close to the food trucks and a place to sit and rest while you ate or enjoyed the entertainment.

Some people even brought their dogs to the festival. As we were walking, we stopped to talk to this beauty who was taking a rest in the shade.

Here are some more of the booths we passed. I loved the paintings but they were so expensive. I would have loved to get one though.

I stopped to talk to the people at this local hemp oil booth. They had some interesting products and were even giving samples of some of their oils.

For anyone who may not know, CBD hemp oil is good for use as an anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsant, anti-anxiety, antioxident, neuroprotective and immune system regulation. It has a positive impact on the human body. This company makes hemp products locally. They grow, process and package their products right here in Central Kentucky. If anyone is interested in learning more about hemp oil or is interested in any of their products, you can contact them at info@naturesrhythmky.com or visit their website here.

I also stopped at the goat milk lotion booth. I use goat milk lotion at night, but we have only bought it at a little store in Gatlinburg. I was curious about what this booth had to offer. They allowed samples from the bottles with white lids. They make it themselves and it was really nice and refreshing. I may be purchasing some from them in the near future when I run out of what I currently have. If you have never used goat milk lotion, you really need to try it out. It is really good for dry skin and eczema. It makes you skin feel refreshed and soft.

You can contact Singing Hills Goat Farm at singinghillsgoats2@gmail.com or check out their products at singinghillsgoats.com.

We had a good time walking around the Midway Fall Festival and looking around.  If you are planning a trip to Central Kentucky in September, consider choosing a date when the Midway Fall Festival is going on and take a day to enjoy it.

I love exploring local things and if it helps other people in planning for future trips, all the better. In the fall there are a lot of things going on in Kentucky and I’m working on a list of some of the things that go on for a later post.
