Traveling and exploring new places is fun to us. There are places that we love to go, places that we’ve been once or twice and there are of course, places that we’ve not been yet, but would love to visit someday. I’m not going to talk about the places we’ve been so much as places that we would like to go to, or go back to soon.

Two years ago, we went to Florida for the first time. This is somewhere that I have always wanted to visit and wish to move to someday. I absolutely loved it there. We chose Clearwater, FL because we have friends who said that it was amazing there, and they were right. The sands were white and the ocean was warm. Leslie wanted to go so she could visit “Winter, the dolphin” at Clearwater Aquarium. You can read about that trip here. I was so sad when we had to cut the trip short but know that I will one day to go back and explore the area more. There was so much we didn’t get to see and to there. So, I want to go back to Clearwater Beach, FL soon.

While we are on the topic of Florida, I’d also like to see the Keys, Miami and Daytona. Truthfully, I would be happy to visit the beach anywhere in Florida. I love the beach in general. It’s one of those dreams of mine, to be able to live on the beach one day. I’d also love to take the kids to Sea World, Leslie would love it there and would probably be ready to move in, and to the Legoland Florida Resort. They all love Legos and this would be a dream come true for them. Busch Gardens is also on the list of places I’d like to go to while in Florida. I love theme parks and can’t wait for the day I get to visit Busch Gardens. While I’m in Florida, I’d also like to visit the everglades.

Another area that I’d like to visit and explore is Indianapolis, IN. There is a zoo there that I’ve been told is out of this world. And of course, since there are dolphins at the Indy Zoo, Leslie would once again feel right at home there. My dolphin obsessed child always looks for ways to see live dolphins, and is frequently looking for new places to see dolphins on YouTube. Her bucket list is basically visiting anywhere that she can see dolphins and be on the ocean.

I’d also like to take the kids to the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. This is another place that I’ve heard amazing things about and that I think my kiddos would love to visit. I’ve been told that it’s the world’s largest children’s museum. I’d also like to visit Soldiers and Sailors Monument and White River State Park. There are many more attractions in Indianapolis that I’m sure would be amazing, but these are the specific places that I can think of at the moment.

When I was a child, I have memories of a visit to Southern Shores, NC. This is somewhere else that I’d like to revisit. I was 10 years old when my Aunt rented an oceanfront cabin and my cousins and I got to hang out on the beach. I can remember spending a day in Duck, NC and going shopping in Nags Head. I would love to take my kids to those places so that they get to have some of the same fun memories.

Another place on my list of places to visit is Hershey, PA. While there, I definitely want to go to Hershey Park, yes another theme park. There is also Hershey Gardens and the Hershey Story Museum there. I just want to go there and explore. I’ve heard others talk about going to Hershey and I can’t wait to one day go there myself. Plus I know that the kids would just love to explore the world of chocolate as well.

As we work our way across the US, I’d also like to go to the Wisconsin Dells. I lived in Wisconsin for a time, but never got a chance to go to the Dells. This is the one place that I wish I could have made it too, but the opportunity never arose. While there, I would definitely check out the Mt Olympus Theme Park. The kids would love the deer park and the opportunity to try out as many water rides as possible. I would also like to take a Lost Canyon tour while there. There are so many things to do there, it’s hard to list them all.

Sean says he wants to visit San Antonio, TX. It’s one of the places in Texas that he hasn’t yet been. He wants to see the Alamo and check out the River Walk. Then there is Sea World San Antonio that Leslie would, of course, enjoy. I myself would love to explore the River Walk as well and go to some of the gardens there. I’m told they are so beautiful. I would also like to do a water tour while we are there. I think that all the kids would love the San Antonio Zoo as well. There are so many things to do there, I’d love to make a week of this specific trip.

Sean also wants to visit La Cruces, New Mexico. He has family there that he would like to see, but we are told that there is a lot to do there as well. I would like to take Hailie to the Museum of Nature and Science. She’s really interested in anything science and has recently taken a huge interest in geography so I’d love to help her learn more about the desert and New Mexico. I would like to go hike the Dripping Springs Natural Area and take some time to enjoy nature and see some different wildlife.
